British pair Kyle Edmund and Cameron Norrie have both reached the last 16 of the New York Open.
British number three Edmund claimed a 7-5 6-4 win over Yasutaka Uchiyama, breaking the Japanese player’s serve in the 12th game of the opening set.
British number two Norrie fought back from 3-0 down in the first set to beat American qualifier Brian Shi 7-5 6-3.
Edmund will now play Germany’s Dominik Koepfer on Thursday while Norrie faces qualifier Jason Jung of Chinese Taipei.
Koepfer beat Canadian qualifier Brayden Schnur 6-4 6-3 while Jung upset South Africa’s Kevin Anderson 7-6 6-4.
